Harbours of Hope: The Church Alongside Seafarers
Mission Focus – Tearfund
Tearfund is a Christian charity that works to tackle poverty and injustice in more than 50 countries. The charity provides practical support in areas such as clean water, sanitation, healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods. Tearfund also responds to emergencies caused by natural disasters, conflict, and humanitarian crises, delivering aid to those in urgent need.
Tearfund is one of the missions St. John's supports through prayer and financial donations. This year we hope to give £2,000. (See the Mission board for more information)
Prayer for the Community
Living God,
Draw us deeper into your love;
Jesus our Lord,
Send us to care and serve;
Holy Spirit,
Make us heralds of good news.
Stir us, strengthen us, teach and inspire us to live your love
with generosity and joy,
imagination and courage;
for the sake of your world and in the name of Jesus. Amen.
