Prayer for these difficult times:

Keep us, good Lord, under the  shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress. Sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus    our Lord. Amen.

NOTICES

ROYSTON FOODBANK: The team would be very grateful for tinned fruit and vegetables (ideally not chickpeas). Toiletries and treats are also welcome; although these aren't added as a part of a regular food box, they are available to families and it makes a big difference for them to have something over and above the basics. They don't need tinned tomatoes, pasta, rice, sauces, baked beans or soup. Donations can be left at Morrison's or the Evangelical Church on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Thank you.

ST ALBANS’ HARVEST APPEAL  taking place this year, called ‘Creating a Buzz in Nepal’; the Appeal is about creating opportunity – through bee-keeping – for Nepalese people to re-build their lives, following the devastation caused by two massive earthquakes in 2015:   www.harvestappeal.org

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: We will be collecting filled shoeboxes for children again in the first week of November. We will shortly be sending-out leaflets with more details, but for now these are the items we CANNOT include in our boxes: used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; seeds; sweets, chocolate or food items; toothpaste, lotions or liquids including bubbles; medicines; playing cards of the 4-suit variety; religious or political literature; sharp or fragile items; books with mainly words. More details of how we will arrange a collection to follow. Let’s get packing!

KEN CHARLES RIP: Many of you will have heard the sad news of the death of Ken Charles on the 16th of this month; there will be a private family funeral on Wednesday 5th August at 2pm at the Cam Valley Crematorium and a Thanksgiving Service next year. May Ken rest in peace and rise in glory, and let us pray that God will comfort Di at this difficult time.
